As part of Kyobo Book Center's current "Movement for Book-Lovers," the Foundation is co-organizing various activities designed to foster ten million active book-readers. Such activities include Visiting Lectures on Literature for Middle and High Schools, a Nationwide Literary Appreciation Contest for Primary School Students and a Nationwide Essay Contest for Homemakers.

2003

  The 10th Nationwide Literary Appreciation Contest for Primary School Students


As part of the Kyobo Book Centre's current "Book Lovers Campaign", the Daesan Foundation co-organized the Nationwide Literary Appreciation Contest for Primary School Students. About 5,000 applications were arrived and 97 students were selected as winners of the contest, the Grand Prize going to JI Sang-Hi. Onyangonchun Elementary School received a special award.

The award ceremony was held at the Conference Hall of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on December 23. The Grand Prize winner received cultural gift certificates equivalent to one million won, Most Excellent Prize winners three hundred thousand won, Excellent Prize winners two hundred thousand won, and Encouragement Prize winners thirty thousand won.

   Visiting Lectures on Literature for High School Students

The Daesan Foundation and Kyobo Book Centre co-organized the visiting lectures on literature for high school students. Twelve eminent writers lectured at 20 high schools in Seoul, Inchoen, Gyunggi and Daegu areas to foster students' cultural understanding through literature.  

2002

  The 9th Nationwide Literary Appreciation Contest for Primary School Students


As part of the Kyobo Book Centre's current "Movement for Book-Lovers", the Daesan Foundation co-organized the Nationwide Literary Appreciation Contest for Primary School Students. A total of 2,071 applications arrived and 67 students were selected as winners of the contest, the Grand Prize going to KIM Tae-Ho. Onyangonchun elementary school received Special Award.

The award ceremony was held at the Conference Hall of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on December 21st. The Grand Prize winner received cultural gift certificates equivalent to five hundred thousand won, Excellence Prize winners to two hundred thousand won, and Encouragement Prize winners to one hundred thousand won.

The Daesan Foundation and Kyobo Book Centre co-organized the visiting lectures on literature for high school students. Fourteen eminent writers lectured at 22 high schools in Seoul, Busan, and Daegu area to foster students' cultural understanding through literature.

As part of the Kyobo Book Centre's current "Movement for Book-Lovers", the Daesan Foundation co-organized the Nationwide Literary Appreciation Contest for Primary School Students. A total of 1,925 applications arrived and 67 students were selected as winners of the contest, the Grand Prize going to SHIN Jae-Hoon.

 The award ceremony was held at the Conference Hall of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on December 21. The Grand Prize winner received cultural gift certificates equivalent to five hundred thousand won, Excellence Prize winners to two hundred thousand won, and Encouragement Prize winners to one hundred thousand won.
