The Foundation selected 13 recipients and awarded them between 5 to 6 million won each for the translations, a total of 66 million won.

Awards were given to one English works "The Reef" by Edith Wharton, two French, one each in German and Spanish, two each in Chinese and Russian, and one each in Turkish, Slavic, Rumanian and Mogolian. Most of these works are to be translated for the first time into Korean.

The award ceremony was held at the Daesan Foundation on November 14.

Four works were added in the volume of "Daesan World Classics" including Christopher Marlowe's Tamburlaine the Great, The Jew of Malta, Doctor Faustus.

"Daesan World Classics" was published by Moonhak-kwa-Jisung-sa as part of an on-going series based on translations that receive these grants.
